As new LA&PS faculty members we often find it difficult to navigate institutional peculiarities, find time to meet and engage with our colleagues, discover resources and information to help us in our jobs, and share our research with one another. The LA&PS Emerging Scholars Network (LESN) brings together these professional and social aspects of our jobs at York University
Our aims are to encourage greater social, intellectual, and scholarly interaction by encouraging new faculty members to come to campus more often, to support research development and dissemination, and to introduce new faculty to the quirks of York as a place of work. To do all this, we plan to organize a series of events on a diverse range of topics, including: a regular research seminar series, workshops on University resources and support, sessions on collegial governance, etc.
